Summer Project: INDIA INFOLINE PRIVATE LIMITED 2 Months, (May 2004-June 2004)
· “Oil and Gas Sectoral Analysis”: The project involved a comprehensive study of the Exploration & Production, refining, marketing and retailing of petroleum products. It also involved a study of the future of hydrocarbons as a source of fuel and the various alternative hydrocarbon fuel sources available. A study of the gas sector involving the consuming industries, a review of the National Gas Grid policy and the state of city gas companies was also undertaken.
Industrial Training: INVENSYS INDIA PVT LTD. 7 Months, (May 2001-Dec 2001)
· Implementation of JIT systems at Invensys’ thermostat division- it involved determining the adequate number of kanbans and the quantity of each kanban.
KEY PROJECTS
· Portfolio Optimization using Markowitz Portfolio Theory: Creation of a spreadsheet based software for selection of an optimal portfolio of BSE Sensex stocks given a specified risk level.
· CROMPTON GREAVES: A study on financial restructuring titled “The Power of Focus”. The project entailed examining the various steps like selling of non-core businesses, debt restructuring, introduction of VRS schemes and quality & safety improvement measures undertaken at the company.
· Public-private partnership: Has India learnt from its experience of over a decade? – an analysis of sectors like transport, power where PPP has been implemented and creating a framework for strengthening formation of new PPP’s in core sectors.
· Ranbaxy, I-flex & NMIMS: A study of Knowledge Management and its implementations in various industries.
· ERP implementation at BPCL: A study of the change management, implementation and training needs at BPCL.
· All Out: A project on “New Product Design”. The case of All Out liquid vaporizers and the Mosquito Repellant Industry.
